Custom Paint Jobs
How much does a custom paint job cost?

Custom paint jobs vary significantly depending on the scope of work, type of paint (candy, pearl, metallic), number of colors, and the condition of your vehicle's existing finish. A basic full repaint starts at a different price point than a multi-color candy paint job with custom graphics. The best way to get an accurate quote is to call us at (901) 553-9241 or bring your vehicle by the shop so we can assess the job in person.

How long does a custom paint job take?

A standard full repaint typically takes 5-7 business days depending on the prep work required. More complex jobs involving custom designs, multiple colors, or candy/pearl finishes may take 2-3 weeks. We'll give you a clear timeline estimate before starting any work, and we're known for our fast turnaround without cutting corners on quality.

What is candy paint and how is it different from regular paint?

Candy paint is a translucent, multi-layered paint finish that creates a deep, rich color with a "wet" look that changes appearance in different lighting. It's applied over a reflective base coat (usually metallic or chrome) in multiple thin layers. The result is a depth and richness that regular solid paint can't achieve. It's the signature look of custom car culture, but it requires a skilled painter because the application must be perfectly even - any inconsistency shows. That's our specialty.

What's the difference between pearl, metallic, and candy finishes?

Metallic paint contains tiny metal flakes that reflect light for a sparkle effect. Pearl paint uses mica or ceramic particles that refract light, creating a color-shifting effect depending on the viewing angle. Candy paint is a translucent color coat applied over a reflective base, creating the deepest and richest finish of the three. Each has its own character, and we can help you decide which finish best matches your vision for the vehicle.

Can you match my car's original factory color exactly?

Yes. We use professional color-matching tools and techniques to match your vehicle's original factory color. Every car has a paint code (usually found on a sticker in the door jamb or engine bay) that tells us the exact formula. We can also custom-mix to match if the color has faded or if the factory code isn't available.

Can I bring my own color idea or design reference?

Absolutely. Bring photos, color swatches, screenshots from Instagram, images of other cars you admire - anything that helps us understand your vision. We'll work with you to refine the concept and make sure the final result is exactly what you're looking for. Custom paint is a collaboration, and your input drives the entire project.

Collision Repair & Body Work
Do you handle insurance claims for collision repair?

We work with customers on collision repair regardless of how they're paying. If you're going through insurance, we can provide detailed estimates and documentation that your insurance company will need. You're always welcome to call us at (901) 553-9241 to discuss the specifics of your situation.

Can you fix dents without repainting the whole panel?

In many cases, yes. Small dents that haven't cracked or chipped the paint can sometimes be repaired using paintless dent repair (PDR) techniques. For dents where the paint is damaged, we do localized spot painting with color matching so only the affected area needs attention, not the entire panel. We'll assess the damage and recommend the most cost-effective approach.

What types of collision damage do you repair?

We handle a wide range of collision repair: fender benders, bumper damage, door dings, side-swipes, rear-end damage, hail damage, and more. This includes panel replacement, dent pulling, filler work, sanding, priming, and refinishing. If the damage is within the scope of body and paint work, we can fix it and make it look like it never happened.

Process & Preparation
What does the paint preparation process involve?

Proper prep is everything. The process typically includes: removing trim, handles, and moldings; sanding or stripping the existing finish; repairing any dents, dings, or rust; applying body filler where needed; block sanding for a perfectly smooth surface; cleaning and degreasing; masking off areas that won't be painted; and applying primer coats. Cutting corners on prep shows in the final result. We don't cut corners.

What is paint correction, and does my car need it?

Paint correction is the process of removing surface imperfections in your car's clear coat: swirl marks from improper washing, light scratches, oxidation, water spots, and "orange peel" texture. It's done through a careful process of machine polishing with different compounds. If your paint looks dull, swirly in direct sunlight, or has lost its depth, paint correction can restore it without a full repaint. It's a more affordable option when the underlying paint is still in good shape.

How do I maintain my new paint job?

After a fresh paint job, wait at least 30 days before waxing. During the first 90 days: hand wash only (no automatic car washes), avoid parking under trees where sap can drip, don't let bird droppings sit on the surface, and park in shade when possible. Long-term, regular hand washing, quality car wax or ceramic coating, and parking in a garage when possible will keep your finish looking showroom-fresh for years.
